Ground Rules from Week 2

Last week we discussed what we could all do to make the term as successful for everyone as possible.  Here's what we agreed:

Students:

Advanced preparation – ideas from lecture and readings

Come prepared to debate, bring examples from own experience/culture

Ask questions and discuss together

Do close reading

Teacher/facilitator:

Help create environment for debate

Work in small groups, vary people talking

Help understand material

Respond/be available

All:

Variety of different kinds of activities

Practical examples

Bring specific examples from reading and lecture to discuss

Do background research if needed (from sociology, anthropology)

Respecting  each other
